First and foremost are you a hound person or horse person? Or do they both mean as much to you?
Hounds mainly, but do enjoy riding a good horse. Can't bear riding rank rubbish, but a real good hunter is a delight. But would hunt on a four wheeler or foot and be just as happy.
UK residents only - in which UK county do you live?
Huntsman to the Windy Hollow Foxhounds,New York/New Jersey, three kids all who ride and hunt, wife Jill whips in and does the horses. Moved here after 7 happy seasons at Midland, previous to which I hunted the Fife Foxhounds. If I had the money and didn't need to work I'd hunt with the Border!!
Thank you, I can't take credit for it though, a friend of mine is a photographer so she takes plenty of pictures of my dogs for me. I quite like that one myself. :)
It's put up with a fair few rough moments- and that's just my normal driving style! One day I'll do something like that and lose the sump or a wheel will fall off.
Things are already starting to get a bit lose and I have to whack the dashboard sometimes to get all the speakers to work! It's all good fun though.
I live near the Border Hunt country and I'd love to hunt with them, up vertical mountains on a quad, it looks great!
Thank you for your kind comments on the photos. I'm quite proud of some of them myself. You must understand that all our current activities take place within the law and that we are only left with nostalgic recollections of days gone by. Most of the photos were taken some years ago, (all UFH). If you are interested in any in particular, just say.
I included the one of the French Boar hunt (Vautrait Tiens Bon Picard) for the connoisseurs. We will be visiting them again at the end of November. 1p plus taxes each way Prestwick to Beauvais, hire a car, stay at a friends. 4 days hunting then back for the UFH fixture. Low budget break!
Just got back from the fell having been searching for my radio I dropped last Monday. Amazingly, I found it thanks in part to a mate whistling down his radio and me ranging back and forth listening. I thought after 3 days the batteries would be knackered.
Hopefully, you will post some images of your hounds. I, for one would be most interested to see them. I am encouraging John and Gail to get joined up. If they done I'll just have to take some phoyos of them and post them with some wicked comments!
Vive la chasse
